Watford Women’s Centre, a secure and inviting interior scheme for their headquarters in Watford.

Project Description

CMI was commissioned by WWC to conceive a secure and inviting interior scheme for their headquarters in Watford. The current interior, while well-intentioned with contributions from generous partners over the years, reflects a tired and mismatched ensemble. Housed in a four-story building that originally served as a residence, the space presents challenges for reconfiguration due to its historical structure and prominent frontage on a bustling high street.

About the Project

The reception and lounge layout has been meticulously designed to establish a seamless and intuitive flow throughout the space. Private enrolment for training schemes and appointments is facilitated by dedicated interview rooms, providing clients with a secure and confidential environment to seek guidance and assistance. The continuity of new carpeting and contemporary décor extending from the ground floor to the basement training facility contributes to a fresh and modern ambiance for both visitors and staff. Our commitment to a pristine interior is evident in the introduction of new feature lighting, a thoughtfully curated palette of colours, and a blend of materials. This clean and inviting design incorporates an eclectic mix of fixtures and fittings, mirroring the vibrant local ethnic community with warm, bright colours and welcoming spaces. The upper floors have been transformed into modern offices, providing staff with functional workspaces to manage support services and organise training courses.

They were always respectful of our space and the people who use it, and they went above and beyond to ensure that any disruption was minimised. The finished product is nothing short of Amazing. CMI managed to completely transform our space, creating a warm and welcoming environment that is both functional and beautiful. They managed to bring our vision to life and create a space that truly reflects the important work that we do at Watford Women's Centre.
