Project Description
Our role was to design collaboration lounges on each floor at 61 Southwark Street. Each lounge has a kit of parts to create spaces for meeting, catching up over coffee or focused agile workspaces. Introducing various seating postures enables the user choice as to how to work or relax in this space on each floor.
About the Project
CBRE have an existing strong branding colour palette for each floor, introduced into the interior to enabled the floor colour to pop in each collaboration lounge, creating a playful agile breakout space. Planting throughout introduces a natural element to soften the introduction of industrial style ceiling rafts. Suspended feature lighting creates a more intimate lighting scheme within this space moving away from the workplace functionality. Feature joinery elements, bring a level of sophistication to this existing monochrome interior with the introduction of feature colour fretwork wall panels, abstract tiling and natural oak banquette seating create a cafe style edge to the interior. Loose furniture items created meeting booths with acoustic panels to assist with acoustics and flexible cafe tables and chairs for quick ten minute meetings and lunchtime catch ups. Lounge style seating create a one to one meeting point on each floor and high level window benches and stools enable users to charge phones whilst catching up over coffee, enjoying the views from each floor. Integrated wireless phone chargers are housed into the bespoke high level counters with accessible power sockets in each booth for laptops.
