Tree Tops is a high specification new modernist home, built on a parcel of the land within a highly sought after area of Aspley Guise.
CMI Architecture were invited to provide a scheme for a modern dwelling within an area traditional in character, but the client in this instance sought a modern home.
Foreseeing issues with achieving permission for such a development, CMI developed a scheme that combined vernacular materials with modern steel and glass which helped to blend the new home with the context yet maintaining the client’s brief.
The building has been constructed with traditional construction methods to minimise costs and adopts a fabric first approach to environmental performance that ensures that the building outperforms (and will continue to outperform) current legislative requirements without the requirement for renewable energy technology.
The house brings contemporary living to the enclosing natural surroundings and traditional village setting.
